Junior Board of Directors is Established

In early 2022, the Bobby Nichols-Fiddlesticks Charity Foundation established a Junior Board of Directors consisting entirely of high school students who live in Fiddlesticks Country Club in Fort Myers, Florida. These future leaders were chosen based on their demonstrated commitment to volunteering and fundraising and they will provide ongoing event support to the foundation in a variety of ways.

The junior board already spent several hours this year aiding in the development and production of the 20th Annual Nichols Cup which took place the weekend of February 18. In addition to the golf tournament itself, this event consists of an auction preview night, gala dinner and auction, as well as a practice round and neighborhood celebration for tournament participants. Some of the responsibilities that the junior board assisted with included packing golf and tennis tournament participant bags, setting up for the dinner and auction, and providing social media and photography services.

One of our goals is to help educate youth in our community and encourage others to become involved.

Berklie Simmering

President of the board of directors for the Bobby Nichols – Fiddlesticks Charity Foundation, Mike Lancellot, commented: “With the collaboration of the newly founded Junior Board of Directors, the Bobby Nichols – Fiddlesticks Charity Foundation was able to soar to new heights this year.”

Founding Junior Board members include Ava Aloia, Mikey Bevins, Lorelai DiSanto, Gracie Mitchell, and Berklie Simmering. Additional high school volunteer committee members include Eliza Incledon, Parker Incledon, Jacob Mast, Annie Nichols, Kayla Nichols and Owen Nichols, CeCe Villareal and Eva Villareal.

“One of our goals is to help educate youth in our community and encourage other to become involved,” said Berklie Simmering, Junior Board Member. “We look forward to continuing to recruit and organize neighborhood high school students to assist with the event and serve the Foundation’s mission throughout the year.”

The funds raised at the Bobby Nichols – Fiddlesticks Charity Foundation Pro-Am golf and tennis tournaments support local children’s charities assisting abused and at-risk children in Southwest Florida.
